BRIDGETT SMITH

Bridgett was born and raised in Louisville as one of sixteen grandchildren in the Portland area. She attended Roosevelt-Perry Elementary and Western Middle School. After her family moved to the Victory Park neighborhood, she attended Seneca High School.

Bridgett started working at age fourteen and held jobs at Wendy’s, PNC Bank, and Riverside Parking. She participated in the Black Achievers program and was President of the NAACP Youth Council.

Following her high school graduation, Bridgett landed a full-time position with Humana, and in 1995, began working for Ford Motor Company as an assembly line worker and UAW member. She attended classes at Jefferson Community College and McKendree University. Later, in management with Ford, she began pursuing her MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Bridgett went to work at PACCAR’s Dynacraft division in Louisville. She held various roles with increasing responsibility with several divisions and relocated over the next nine years to Seattle, Washington; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Canada. In 2021, Bridgett accepted a position with Samtec, New Albany, Indiana, and is now the Global Trade Security Program Manager. Bridgett is active in our community. She is a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
