What To Do This Weekend

Jan 24, 2019 | This Weekend

To learn about all things bridal, take your pick from these wedding shows happening this weekend: The Carriage House at the Howard Steamboat Museum, the Bridal Show at the Venue Louisville, the Kentucky Wedding Show at Hyatt Regency Downtown, or hop on the 2019 Louisville Brides to Be!! Cocktail Bus Tours.

Just opened at the Frazier History Museum, the new solo exhibition Road Map to Heaven by acclaimed photographer and native Kentuckian Linda Bruckheimer explores the federal highway system and its enduring legacy in American life. The photos pay homage to the journey Linda’s family took in the 1950’s when relocating from Louisville to the Golden State.

Catch the final weekend of Almost, Maine — a plainspoken masterpiece blending humor and heart that has become one of the most frequently produced plays in the U.S. — at Commonwealth Theatre Center.

The Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center will celebrate its 25th birthday with 1994 admission prices ($2 adults and $1 children). Stories of the history of the center will be shared, and birthday cake and other refreshments will be offered with an official candle-lighting ceremony at 12:30pm. There will also be behind the scenes tours of the park’s collection storeroom, free hands-on activities, and more.

Check out the first 2019 event in Preston Arts Center’s Free Demo Series — Natural Henna with JessiKay. The local artist will show what it is and how it’s applied as a body adornment for everyday wear as well as cultural celebrations across the world.

Show your support at the Louisville Women’s Rally at the Muhammad Ali Center, and help continue to push Kentucky forward in the coming elections. Co-hosts of this event include IndivisibleKy, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky, The Fairness Campaign, KY Chapter of Moms Demand Action, Louisville Metro Office For Women, Louisville Showing Up for Racial Justice, and the Louisville Democratic Party.
