I completed my 200-hour teacher training in November, and it took three months to complete. My training was all day, every Saturday and Sunday for those three months. I also completed a yoga retreat recently. I practice almost every day of the week, which is what helps me prepare for more intensive workshops and practices.
I have two tattoos, the one on my right shoulder blade is a dancer with the lyrics “nothing’s gonna change my world.” It’s from Across the Universe by John Lennon. I got it when I was 25, a month after I was in a serious car accident where I was hit by a drunk driver. It was the first time in my life I realized how short and precious life is and how blessed I am to have an able body.
The second on the inside of my arm is the second Yoga Sutra of Patanjali in book one. It’s written in Sanskrit and translates to mean “yoga is to control the mind-stuff.” I got it shortly after completing my yoga teacher training. I like where it is on my arm because when I look at it, it reminds me to breathe and stay calm throughout my day!
