Arts Insider Pick of the Week: DANCING WITH THE STARS: Live!

Following a sold-out winter tour and the 10th Anniversary Season of ABC’s hit show Dancing with the Stars, Dancing with the Stars: Live!  is back on the road-visiting over 40 cities across America, including Louisville @ the Louisville Palace, Sunday, August 2nd. Season 20 DWTS champion Rumer Willis joins the cast of dancing professionals in 25 of those tour dates (*including the Louisville Palace date,) although due to multiple stress fractures Willis suffered to one of her feet while rehearsing for the tour, the singer/actress is expected to only sing during her segments.

Willis said: “Over the weeks on DWTS I fell in love with dancing, and after winning the show I just didn't want to stop. Val (pro dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy) and I were lucky enough to have incredible fans that supported us throughout the entire show, and they are the reason we won.  I can’t wait to meet the fans and perform for them live.  My other passion is music, and I’m looking forward to singing live during the show and accompanying the best dancers in the world.”

In addition to Willis and her pro dance partner, Chmerkovskiy, the tour company consists of DWTS pro dancers Witney Carson (winner of Season 19 of DWTS with actor Alphonso Ribeiro), Artem Chigvintsev, Emma Slater, Keo Motsepe and Peta Murgatroyd, (winner of Season 14 of DWTS with NFL player Donald Driver.)

DWTS troupe dancers on this year’s tour are Alan Bersten, Brittany Cherry, Sasha Farber and Jenna Johnson. The Arts Insider can’t imagine missing this 90-minute action packed live production, consisting of exciting and romantic performances, from choreography never before seen on the television show, to some of the most memorable numbers from all ten years.  Hosting the tour is former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and winner of the Dancing with the Stars All-Stars season, Melissa Rycroft.
