Holiday Bites - Cream Cheese Bacon and Sausage Rolls

Holiday Bites Finalist!

Appetizer:  Cream Cheese Bacon and Sausage Rolls

Our very first Holiday Bites contest was a huge success. We had several incredible recipes; it was hard to choose just one winner. Here is one of our finalists for the appetizer category. These Cream Cheese Bacon and Sausage Rolls are easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time and frozen. No matter how many Betsy Wells makes for special occasions and gatherings, she never has any leftovers- they're a big hit!

12 slices white sandwich bread (crusts removed, cut in half lengthwise)
12 slices bacon (cut in half)

Fully cook sausage in skillet, drain grease
Mix cooked sausage with cream cheese
Spread sausage/cream cheese spread on one side of the bread.  Roll the bread, wrap bacon around the bread, and secure with a toothpick

NOTE: These are super easy to make!  You can prepare them in advance, store in the freezer, and pop them in the oven when your guests are arriving.
