Try this holiday cocktail recipe!

Jacquelyn Zykan, Beverage Director of Doc Crow’s & La Coop in Louisville, shares one of her new recipes that you can make at home for the holidays.

Pomegranate Smash Lemonade
  • Equal parts 100-proof bourbon, grenadine (see recipe below), fresh lemon juice, and water.
  • Muddle (crush or mash) 8-10 mint leaves, per serving.
  • Shake briefly, double strain over new ice.
  • Garnish with mint sprig.
  • Grenadine Recipe: Equal parts Pom® pomegranate juice and white sugar.
Stir it until the sugar dissolves, and keep it in the fridge.

“You could make a big batch of this pomegranate drink,” Jacquelyn says. “It’s a very pretty pink and green cocktail. Put a wheel of lemon in it to dress it up. It’s something you could make ahead of time to serve over the holidays, and it’s low enough in alcohol that people won’t get wasted. Or you could do one ounce of each ingredient. It will give you a decent-sized drink for yourself."

For non-drinkers, “if you take out the bourbon, it makes a great mocktail.”
