Before and After: Emily and Aaron Turner's Weight Loss Journey

Aaron and Emily before

When Emily Turner was asked to be a bridesmaid in her husband Aaron’s cousin’s wedding, she never dreamed that she would have so much trouble getting her dress. Being 298 pounds, Emily’s only dress option was a size 28, the biggest size the store had. The embarrassment of this moment pushed Emily in the direction she needed to start her journey to losing weight.

Having known people close to her who had lost weight through doctor-created weight loss programs, she decided to give one a try. These programs are equipped with health coaches and diabetes educators who help clients take off weight and keep it off. After Emily started her program, it wasn’t long before she started noticing the weight drop. Once she had lost about 20 pounds, Aaron decided maybe he should give this program a try, too. He started the program at a weight of about 400 pounds.

Both Emily and Aaron have continued with the program and made lifestyle changes in the hopes of meeting their goal weights. They found even more motivation in a quote Emily had found online: “If you eat what you’ve always eaten, you’ll weigh what you’ve always weighed.” By continuing with their program and following this quote, so far Emily has lost 146 pounds and Aaron has lost 205 pounds.

From this experience, the couple has found inspiration to help others. Both of their lives have been changed by their weight loss since they gained the ability to be active and do activities they never dreamed of at their starting weights. They wanted to find a way to help others find the happiness they have found, so both are now certified health coaches with the program they used to lose weight.
